A garden

Beloved,
Last night I dreamed a vivid and lucid dream. I dreamed that you and I had our own little piece of land and that we tilled the ground together. As one, we planted fruit trees, flowers, bushes, herbs, and grains. As one my beloved, we cultivated a miniature Eden out of the way of modern technology. I dreamed of buzzing bees laden down with pure, wholesome pollen. I dreamed of a clear, cool pond where we would soak our feet on a warm summer's night. I dreamed of birds and insects singing a divine symphony to us as the seasons passed in joy and peace. I dreamed of a sword beaten into a plowshare with which our children's children tilled the ground. I dreamed of wisdom bequeathed on you and I through all the life around us. I found that God smiled at our own little piece of paradise. Then, I awoke. The dream still lives on deep in my soul. I realized now that we need not seek paradise or perfection. It is within us. When we create out of that knowledge, anything we touch will become a part of Eden.

David
